about

Amber Patrick is a writer and photographer for Voltage Live whose love for music photography was sparked in 2014 during Bunbury Music Festival. A magical moment occurred when a piece of tinsel from The Flaming Lips’ frontman Wayne Coyne’s jacket floated down and found its way onto her shoulder. She quickly tied it to her camera, and from that day forward, her passion for capturing the energy and emotion of live music became unstoppable.

Based in Cleveland, Amber has been fortunate to shoot for prestigious institutions such as the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Interscope Records, Chris Rock, and Consequence of Sound, among others. In April 2017, she took a leap of faith and quit her day job to pursue her dream full-time. Currently, she serves as the house photographer at Blossom Music Center, continuing to capture unforgettable moments on stage.

Amber is not only passionate about photography but also about interviewing bands, covering live shows, and guiding others through the complexities of the music industry. She is particularly committed to creating more opportunities for BIPOC, women, and non-binary individuals in music, and she is eager to write pieces that reflect this dedication.

When she’s not in the photo pit, Amber enjoys the quieter side of life, spending time at home with her pup, Samson. A true introvert, she finds balance between the thrill of live music and the peace of solitude.
