black tunnel - Heddy Edwards

IYL: Caroline Culver, Caroline Kingsbury, Hana Bryanne

Heddy Edwards is a singer-songwriter, producer, and poet hailing from the south suburbs of Chicago, now residing in the DC area. Her music is defined by her abstract and poetic lyricism, captivating melodies, and unique vocal tone and style.
Drawing inspiration from the enigmatic worlds of David Lynch and Sofia Coppola films to the ethereal sounds of musical luminaries such as Stevie Nicks, The Cranberries, and Alvvays, Heddy invites audiences on a journey into the depths of the human experience, where dreams intertwine with reality and the boundaries of perception blur.
Her largest release to date, the mesmerizing "cherry picker," garnered a social media buzz for being reminiscent of Kate Bush. The track found its home on Spotify's Kate Bush radio station, solidifying Heddy's status as a rising star in the realm of indie pop, indie rock, and dream pop music. Heddy's creative process often delves into the realms of automatic writing, where she channels raw melodies and lyrics straight from her subconscious. Her greatest aspiration lies in extricating her inner world, inviting listeners to explore the rich tapestry of symbols and soundscapes that populate her lyrical universe.

Pearl - Aurora Ave.

IYL: jomm, Saturday's Call, readyaimfire27

Inspired by Japanese Pop, Indie-Rock, and Shoegaze, Pearl is a bright anthem about finding your place in the world. The song has existed in concept for over 3 years, and a very different version of the track was slated but eventually scrapped from Seattle band Aurora Ave's self-titled debut album in 2021. Pearl may talk about the challenges of finding your way in young life and feeling the weight of the world on your shoulders, but its high energy rhythms particularly in the ethereal outro reflect that there is light at the end of the tunnel. 3 years since Aurora Ave. began work on Pearl, the track has evolved into one of the group's favorite songs. Pearl is tied together by an incredible vocal performance by the band's newest member, lead singer Samara Reign. It also features a solo from the band's trumpet player Peyton Smith. Samara brings a soulful, angelic quality to the band's brass-heavy rhythms. Fans of artists like The Backseat Lovers, LAUNDRY DAY, and Luna Li will love this track from your soon-to-be favorite band, Aurora Ave.
