Brace For Changes (Part Two) - Shelby Olive

IYL: Isabella Snow, CamLiz, Ingrid Griffin

Influenced by the sounds of Sara Bareilles and Orla Gartland, Shelby has combined her love of storytelling with catchy earworm melodies. Her music explores themes of love, self-discovery, and personal growth. In 2015, Shelby faced a life-changing vocal cord surgery and turned to songwriting to get her through. Shelby writes music to help people feel less alone-- whatever they're going through. By day, she's a public school music teacher; by night, she channels her "inner popstar"...very Hannah Montana.

In 2018, Shelby Olive released her debut album, Make Sound, which garnered support from audiences throughout the Midwest. She captured the attention of listeners with her viral 2021 single, "Nothing Wrong With Me." She's garnered almost 20K followers on TikTok making content about her music and vocal health journey.

Currently, Shelby Olive is hard at work on her sophomore album, Brace for the Changes. This ambitious three-part project dives into all the "life" stuff that she faced in the last year. A cancer scare, death of a grandparent and two of her childhood dogs, and almost losing her mom-- she learned pretty quickly that the only constant in life is CHANGE. This album has been a labor of love as she navigated her mental health along the way.

Following the 2017 release of SWIM's sophomore effort Finally, Someone, SWIM broke through with their first single, Heartbeat Connection, which has garnered over two million streams on Spotify.
