Sean Fitzgerald is an award-winning journalist, writer, sports reporter, voiceover talent, and podcaster with a diverse and accomplished career in media. A 2021 graduate of Kent State University, Sean had the unique opportunity to cover the 2020 and 2021 MLB seasons and the 2021 NFL Draft during his time at the university. His reporting experience also includes coverage of the Cleveland Cavaliers and multiple Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournaments. Among his notable interviews are former Cleveland Browns Pro-Bowl linebacker Joe Schobert, Browns All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett, and NBA analyst Chris Broussard, showcasing his ability to engage with top-tier sports figures.
Sean’s expertise spans across various areas of sports journalism, including MLB, NFL, NBA, NCAA, and high school sports. His talents also extend to voiceover work, radio broadcasting, audio editing, and copy editing. In addition to his full-time role as a sports reporter, Sean works most Sundays at WKSU Ideastream Public Media as an Announcer/Operator. His experience in sports broadcasting is extensive, having hosted or co-hosted shows for seven semesters at Kent State’s Black Squirrel Radio, where he rose to the roles of sports coordinator and then sports director.
